I’m Dr. Brendan McAteer, Au.D., a Doctor of Audiology, U.S. military veteran, musician, and the founder of Waveform Audiology, serving North Tampa Bay and surrounding Florida communities. I specialize in musician hearing wellness, tinnitus management, hyperacusis and sound sensitivity care, hearing conservation, and custom hearing protection.


My approach to care is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. As a lifelong musician who lives with tinnitus and hyperacusis, I understand firsthand how these conditions can impact creativity, focus, and quality of life. I’m also living proof that, with the right education, strategies, and support, tinnitus and sound sensitivity can be managed effectively. This perspective allows me to provide care that is practical, compassionate, and evidence-based—especially for musicians and audio professionals.



I’m a Sensaphonics Gold Circle Music Audiologist and a proud member of the Florida Academy of Audiology. I’m also a Florida resident, husband, and father, and I believe hearing care should go beyond test results—helping people stay connected to music, conversation, and the moments that matter most.
